Mom’s Quit Connection for Families continues to receive referrals through its partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
As part of CHOP’s check-in process, a family smoking questionnaire was introduced to identify parents and caregivers who smoke or vape. Individuals who indicate tobacco or e-cigarette use are given smoking cessation resources, including nicotine replacement therapy through Bright Medical Pharmacy, texting support through SmokeFreeTexts and supportive counseling through Mom’s Quit Connection for Families.
Mom’s Quit Connection for Families began receiving referrals on May 13, 2024 through six CHOP pediatric departments in the Southern region.
On March 31, 2025, CHOP received the Smoking Treatment Accreditation & Recognition (STAR) program accreditation from the Health Promotion Council. During this acknowledgment, Brian Jenssen, MD, MSHP, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania and practicing primary care pediatrician at CHOP, recognized Mom’s Quit Connection for Families as one of CHOP’s community partners strengthening its tobacco cessation network.

Mom’s Quit Connection for Families also expanded services for CHOP-referred clients to include parents and caregivers of children of any age, as long as the child is a CHOP patient.
